A human translator who dots the i’s and crosses the t’s

I look not only at whether a machine-translated text is grammatically correct, but also at whether the tone, style and terminology suit your target audience and the specific context of your business. Machine translations can look fine at first glance, but appearances can be deceptive. The last thing you want is an expensive mistake going unnoticed.

Machine Translation Post-Editing

Post-editing of machine translations (MTPE) is the process of improving machine-translated text so that it becomes accurate, natural-sounding and suitable for the intended audience. You may also see the abbreviation PEMT — both terms mean the same thing.

A critical eye and precise correction
Alongside regular translations, I also offer machine translation post-editing. This means I critically review and correct the raw output of a machine translation system such as DeepL or Google Translate. I assess not only whether the text is grammatically correct, but also whether the tone, style and terminology match your target audience and the specific context of your business. When there are errors that are obvious to a human but invisible to a machine — such as the wrong register, a cultural mismatch or a subtle shift in meaning — I identify and correct them. In this way, I combine the speed of technology with the precision and linguistic judgement of a professional translator.

Don’t take unnecessary risks
If you leave the translation step entirely to a machine, you expose yourself to real risks. Machine translation can produce apparently fluent texts that seem correct on a quick read, while still containing serious errors. Examples include a mistranslated product specification, a legal clause that no longer says what it should, or marketing copy with wording that sounds unintentionally funny — or even offensive — in the target language. Mistakes like these can lead to misunderstandings, complaints and reputational damage, and the cost can quickly outweigh the investment in expert post-editing.
